While Article products don’t require a tremendous amount of assembly by customers, many product required a small amount. For example, nearly every chair or sofa required legs to be attached after delivery, as legs can be susceptible to damage during transport.

A design approach and visual language was developed and applied to hundreds of SKUs. We were constantly revising and updating the instructions based on feedback. Using as little language as possible was a guiding principle. As a result we leaned heavily on clarity of process.
